God's Invitations to You
(Deuteronomy 4:29-31) "But from there you will seek the LORD your
God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with
all your soul. {30} "When you are in distress, and all these things come
upon you in the latter days, when you turn to the LORD your God and obey
His voice {31} '(for the LORD your God is a merciful God), He will not
forsake you nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant of your fathers
which He swore to them.
(Deuteronomy 30:1-3) "Now it shall come to pass, when all these things
come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you,
and you call them to mind among all the nations where the LORD your God
drives you, {2} "and you return to the LORD your God and obey His voice,
according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with
all your heart and with all your soul, {3} "that the LORD your God will
bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and gather
you again from all the nations where the LORD your God has scattered
you.
(2 Chronicles 7:14) "if My people who are called by My name will humble
themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their
land.
(Proverbs 8:17) I love those who love me, And those who seek me
diligently will find me.
(Isaiah 41:17-18) "The poor and needy seek water, but there is none,
Their tongues fail for thirst. I, the LORD, will hear them; I, the God
of Israel, will not forsake them. {18} I will open rivers in desolate
heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the
wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water.
(Isaiah 44:2-3) Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the
womb, who will help you: 'Fear not, O Jacob My servant; And you,
Jeshurun, whom I have chosen. {3} For I will pour water on him who is
thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your
descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;
(Isaiah 45:18-22) For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who
is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who
did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: "I am the
LORD, and there is no other. {19} I have not spoken in secret, In a dark
place of the earth; I did not say to the seed of Jacob, 'Seek Me in
vain'; I, the LORD, speak righteousness, I declare things that are
right. {20} "Assemble yourselves and come; Draw near together, You who
have escaped from the nations. They have no knowledge, Who carry the
wood of their carved image, And pray to a god that cannot save. {21}
Tell and bring forth your case; Yes, let them take counsel together. Who
has declared this from ancient time? Who has told it from that time?
Have not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides Me, A just God
and a Savior; There is none besides Me. {22} "Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.
(Isaiah 55:1-4) "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you
who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without price. {2} Why do you spend money for what is
not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to
Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
{3} Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting covenant with you; The sure mercies of
David. {4} Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader
and commander for the people.
(Isaiah 55:6-9) Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while
He is near. {7} Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man
his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him;
And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. {8} "For My thoughts are
not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD. {9} "For
as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than
your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
(Jeremiah 3:22) "Return, you backsliding children, And I will heal your
backslidings." "Indeed we do come to You, For You are the LORD our God.
(Jeremiah 29:11-13) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,
says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future
and a hope. {12} Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I
will listen to you. {13} And you will seek Me and find Me, when you
search for Me with all your heart.
(Jeremiah 30:21-22) Their nobles shall be from among them, And their
governor shall come from their midst; Then I will cause him to draw
near, And he shall approach Me; For who is this who pledged his heart to
approach Me?' says the LORD. {22} 'You shall be My people, And I will be
your God.'"
(Daniel 10:12) Then he said to me, "Do not fear, Daniel, for from the
first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself
before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your
words.
(Hosea 5:15) I will return again to My place Till they acknowledge their
offense. Then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will
earnestly seek Me."
(Hosea 6:1) Come, and let us return to the LORD; For He has torn, but He
will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
(Joel 2:12-13) "Now, therefore," says the LORD, "Turn to Me with all
your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." {13} So rend
your heart, and not your garments; Return to the LORD your God, For He
is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He
relents from doing harm.
(Matthew 5:8) Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
(Matthew 9:12-13) When Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those who are
well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. {13} "But go
and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did
not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
(Matthew 11:28-30) "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. {29} "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. {30} "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."
(Matthew 19:13-14) Then little children were brought to Him that He
might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.
{14} But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not
forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven."
(Luke 9:23-26) Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come
after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow
Me. {24} "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever
loses his life for My sake will save it. {25} "For what profit is it to
a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?
{26} "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man
will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father's, and
of the holy angels.
(Luke 11:9-13) "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek,
and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. {10} "For
everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who
knocks it will be opened. {11} "If a son asks for bread from any father
among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he
give him a serpent instead of a fish? {12} "Or if he asks for an egg,
will he offer him a scorpion? {13} "If you then, being evil, know how to
give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly
Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
(John 4:13-14) Jesus answered and said to her, "Whoever drinks of this
water will thirst again, {14} "but whoever drinks of the water that I
shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him
will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting
life."
(John 6:33-35) "For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven
and gives life to the world." {34} Then they said to Him, "Lord, give us
this bread always." {35} And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of
life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me
shall never thirst.
(John 6:37-40) "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the
one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. {38} "For I have come
down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent
Me. {39} "This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has
given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.
{40} "And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees
the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise
him up at the last day."
(John 6:43-45) Jesus therefore answered and said to them, "Do not murmur
among yourselves. {44} "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent
Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day. {45} "It is
written in the prophets, 'And they shall all be taught by God.'
Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to
Me.
(John 7:37-39) On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood
and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.
{38} "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart
will flow rivers of living water." {39} But this He spoke concerning the
Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit
was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
(John 10:27-30) "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they
follow Me. {28} "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never
perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. {29} "My
Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is
able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. {30} "I and My Father are
one."
(John 12:24-26) "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat
falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it
produces much grain. {25} "He who loves his life will lose it, and he
who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. {26} "If
anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant
will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.
(John 15:4-5) "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear
fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless
you abide in Me. {5} "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides
in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do
nothing.
(John 17:20-23) "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who
will believe in Me through their word; {21} "that they all may be one,
as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in
Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. {22} "And the glory
which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are
one: {23} "I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in
one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved
them as You have loved Me.
(Acts 3:18-21) "But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all
His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. {19}
"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,
so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, {20}
"and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, {21}
"whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things,
which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the
world began.
(Hebrews 4:14-16) Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has
passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
confession. {15} For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize
with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet
without sin. {16} Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace,
that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
(Hebrews 7:18-22) For on the one hand there is an annulling of the
former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, {19}
for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the
bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. {20}
And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath {21} (for they
have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said
to Him: "The LORD has sworn And will not relent, 'You are a priest
forever According to the order of Melchizedek'"), {22} by so much more
Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant.
(Hebrews 10:19-23) Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the
Holiest by the blood of Jesus, {20} by a new and living way which He
consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, {21} and
having a High Priest over the house of God, {22} let us draw near with a
true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from
an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. {23} Let us
hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who
promised is faithful.
(James 4:6-10) But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists
the proud, But gives grace to the humble." {7} Therefore submit to God.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you. {8} Draw near to God and He
will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your
hearts, you double-minded. {9} Lament and mourn and weep! Let your
laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. {10} Humble
yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
(Revelation 2:4-5) "Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have
left your first love. {5} "Remember therefore from where you have
fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you
quickly and remove your lampstand from its place; unless you repent.
(Revelation 21:5-7) Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make
all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and
faithful." {6} And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the
Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the
water of life freely to him who thirsts. {7} "He who overcomes shall
inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
(Revelation 22:17) And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him
who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires,
let him take the water of life freely.
