Internet Evangelism

The printing press, radio, television, and now the Internet; these are all tools that God has given the church to spread the gospel. (Of course Satan tries to pervert the use of these communication tools.) But of all the tools available to the church the Internet is the greatest and most cost effective. The Internet combines all of the above technologies into one medium and allows the recipient of the message to communicate back to the author. For the first time in history a person in one country can evangelize and make disciples in another country right from the comfort of their own home and in real-time. There are huge opportunities for you to share your faith online, not only by websites, but through chat rooms, email and instant messaging.

People sometimes ask me how I started the SeekGod.org web site. Basically I saw that creating a web site was simple enough for me to learn and I just kept thinking, "what an awesome way to spread the gospel". I now know that thought which was continually in my mind was the call of God to start the site. So the first advice I would give anyone is do what you feel called to do. Without Jesus we can do nothing, with Him we will bear much fruit. The second advice is like the first, be led by the Holy Spirit in everything you do and in every way that you communicate. Ultimately only the Holy Spirit can truly evangelize and make disciples of Jesus Christ, but He chooses to use us in the process. 

My third piece of advice is to make good use of this awesome guide. This guide contains a wealth of information, suggestions, and examples. The guide was (written by the author of the Internet page in Operation World) it explains how to bring non-Christians to an evangelistic site. It shows how to write effective testimonies that will communicate. There are reviews of some of the world's most effective outreach sites, and help with starting a church web-page. I also recommend that you purchase your own domain instead of using a free service you can register a domain for $10 to $15 dollars per year. This way you will have a permanent address which is very important as your sight becomes known and is in search engines.
