Help Them Know God's
Love again:
1.) Have them read the SeekGod.org's "A Letter From God To You"
-
http://www.seekgod.org/bible/letterfromgod.html
2.) Have
them listen, or watch the "Father's Love Letter Video." (which is
similar)
- http://www.fathersloveletter.com/fllcd.html
- http://www.fathersloveletter.com/flltextenglish.html
Men who struggle with sexual sins, come under a tremendous amount of guilt,
shame, and condemnation. They continue to sin, because they can't bear to come
before God as guilty and stained on the inside, as they feel.
However, by using your "A Letter From God To You" and the "Father's Love Letter
video," I've been able to help struggling men & boys online to know the Love of
God for them individually. As they receive the revelation of God's love, they
are able to connect with God again, and seek to turn from sexual sins with God's
help.
Sexual sin is very corrosive in men's lives. It causes pain, and shame that
keeps men from turning to God. Here's a quote from "When We Just Can't Stop":
"Addictions often begin as a pursuit of pleasure to numb the discomfort of
painful losses. But we soon discover that addictions multiply the pain. In time,
it becomes worse than the pain we were trying to relieve. Now we find ourselves
needing relief not only from our inescapable losses but also from the shame of
our own foolishness. We feel shame for trusting in addictive behavior that made
our problem worse."
"Shame, however, is also a deceiver. In the beginning, pleasure holds us in the
addiction. In time, shame has the same effect. In their own ways, both are
deceptively effective pain relievers. Pleasure is a filler; shame is a killer.
Pleasure is a distracter; shame is an assassin. Both attach to our addictions.
Both combine with our obsessions to numb our hearts not only to the harm we are
doing to others but also to our own longing for love and relationship."
"Ironically, shame ends up being even more useful than pleasure in providing
relief from our pain. Shame causes us to feel unworthy to give and receive love.
Shame deadens our longings for relationship. Shame becomes a powerful pain
killer not merely by lessening our pain but by deadening our hearts until we
feel nothing at all."
"When our hearts are deadened, we don't hurt. We don't long to give and receive
love. Neither are we able to feel the harm we are doing to others. Yet using our
addiction and its resulting shame to feel nothing seems preferable to bearing
the sorrows of life."
That's exactly why it's sooo important men & boys in sexual sin to know the Love
of God for them. The revelation of God's Love is the only thing that breaks the
shame barrier to seeking God for forgiveness, and help.
Answering Apologetic Questions:
Because people trapped in sexual sin lose their fellowship with God, they
tend to have apologetic questions about Him. So, I will direct them to listen to
these resources:

It's helpful to let them
know that all of these ministers are closely associated with Billy Graham
(serving as his board of directors, or on committees of his ministry), because
of Rev, Billy Graham's international respect and world renown as a man of
integrity and simple contemporary evangelism.
Radical
Amputation:
This is a principle from
www.SettingCaptivesFree.com/course
Radical Amputation means
to get rid of every source of porn, and immorality as possible, even if it costs
the individual something that he/she desires. "If your arm offends you... cut it
off..."
It's important for Internet porn addicts to get filter, accountability software,
an online accountability partner, or to simply throw their computer/modem away.
It's important for some men to never carry a credit card, and only cary a little
bit of money when they go shopping (so they can't pay for porn mags, massage
parlors, xxx theaters, strip clubs, or prostitutes).
For married or single men, who have potential sexual partners (male or female)
lined up, they need to change their email addresses, phone numbers, and even
ditch their cell phones.
Radical Accountability:
This is another principle from
www.SettingCaptivesFree.com/course
Radical Accountability is
a must for people trapped in sexual sins.Accountabiltiy partners ask "How are
you doing with (fill in the blank) today?" every day, every other day, or once a
week.
It's important to help hook men up with online accountability partners, or local
in person accountability partners.
This is best done by sending them to either the Setting Captives Free website
(where they are hooked up with a mentor & a message board with accountability
partners), the every man's battle message board, or local recovery groups in
their area.
Accountability software is a must have for many men. Sometimes after just
installing accountability software, many men never look at internet porn online
ever again.
Other men require having a filter (because the internet is mostly composed of
millions and millions of pornographic websites). The best filters can only block
98% of porn (allowing 2 out of every 100 porn websites) because of how many new
porn websites are created.
However, by "Whitelisting," which means to block all of the internet except a
couple hundred clean good websites. That's the only a internet connection can be
100% guaranteed to block all porn.
More information:
Recovery from sexual sin is a process that takes years. Sometimes the external
things take only a few months or decades to stop. However, the internal desires,
thought patterns, and warped mindset take even longer to correct and renew.
That's why it's imperative to have men start reading many resources, articles,
books, bible study courses, and more to renew their minds in the areas of sexual
sin, and purity.
Marketing:
A great place to reach out to teenagers with porn problems would be:
Govteen is one of the largest online teen communities on the web. And, Vteen is
an offshoot of Govteen. I used to post in these forums, and they grow larger
every year.
Teens love to go to those forums specifically to talk about every subject in
sex, puberty, and adolescence under the sun. I warn that it's a very worldly
forum for all teens (every race, nation, background, religion, etc.). Becareful
about browsing the puberty forums, they tend to be intentionally graphic &
explicit.
You might talk to those websites about putting a banner ad for your new SeekGod
section for porn freedom for Christians.
Once you have a website, or section of your website for porn freedom - place it
on the Google.com search engine, and directory (under sex/porn
addiction). Also you can put it on www.dmoz.org (spelling?) which should
also place your submission on several big search engine directories.
Most men & women trapped in sexual sin will go to a search engine and type
"porn addiction" or "sex addiction recovery" etc. That's where most websites get
the most traffic online for their websites.
Online community:
Hosting an online community, such as a message board/forum, or chatroom would
make your sight interactive enough for people to want to stick around the new
section for your sight.
Teens & kids mostly like to talk with people in their age group in forums and
chatrooms. Likewise, men like to talk only with other men about porn and other
sexual addictions.
Proboards.com has free message board service available. You can use it to
experiment with creating your own message board/forum.
You could ask for porn freedom experts, authors, or Christian sex Counselors to
visit your forums, so solid biblical advice could be given out in an interactive
manner. You would also need people who could commit to be moderators and
administrators for it.
Or, you can just forward people to the forums at: www.bebroken.com ,
www.everymansbattle.com or http://forums.crosswalk.com/forumid_69/tt.htm
(Men's personal issues forum at crosswalk.com)
Additional Articles:
Posting additional articles (from other ministries that I listed) directly on to
your website will provide a plethora of helpful topical information about sexual
addiction & freedom on your website. (You would have to ask permission first.)
Bookstore of sexual addiction resources: : )
Having a bookstore to sell books, tapes and resources about porn from other
ministries is a great way to help disciple men & women who are desperate for
help.
Also, it would be a way to earn money ($$$$$) for your website/ministry!
Here are a couple links to Christianbook.com where they sell those kind of
resources below retail prices. You could partner with christianbook.com and sell
the same resources at or above the retail price.

The bookstore for New Life ministries is a good place to look at materials as
well:

Freedom Testimonies:
Here are a couple links to webpages with freedom testimonies from sexual
addictions, from which you can base your testimony page, or copy testimonies to
your website (after obtaining permission):
http://www.porn-free.org/freedom_testimonials.htm
My testimony is on this page. It's listed as:
8/22/5 “Thank you for this site. With your help (& others) God has made me
porn-free for the last 10 months. I recommend this site to all the guys I talk
to online, about quitting sexual impurity & pornography.”
http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com/testimonies/view_testimony.php
Then on that page, Click on the testimonies under:
- "The Way of Purity" for sexual sin,
- "United Front" for spouses of people involved in sexual sin,
- "Door of Hope" for former homosexuals, and
- "Purity Force Challenge." for young teens
I hope that all of that information is helpful. If you have any more questions,
feel free to ask me, or the directors of those ministry websites.
Blessings,
