The gifts Jesus gives to men are salvation, strength, and citizenship in heaven. (Revelation 12:10-11 NKJV) Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. {11} "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.

GIFTS TO MEN

Jesus came to earth to reconcile us to God, to break the curse of sin and death in our lives through His authority over Satan, death, and hell. When we accept God's gift to become united with Him through Jesus Christ, we also are given the authority of Jesus, and the right to use His name. (Romans 6:23 NKJV) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Ephesians 4:7-8 NKJV) But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. {8} Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men."

Notice that the gifts to men are the very things that we need to be overcomers. Salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God. The word of our testimony, Jesus Christ and Him crucified; is power, and all strength to defeat the works of darkness. The ability to preserver to the point of death is because we know our names are written in heaven, we have a place to go from here and it is glorious. So the three keys to being an overcomer are the three gifts that Jesus gives to all men, if they choose to accept them.

SALVATION is through the blood of Jesus Christ. When we receive salvation by believing and accepting the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins, we receive power and citizenship in heaven. The precious blood of Jesus is what redeems us to God, and in Him we become a new creation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-20 NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. {18} Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, {19} that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. {20} Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

The blood of Jesus makes us righteous and holy giving us the right to come before the throne of God our Father, who is full of compassion, and ask for help. (Hebrews 4:16 NKJV) Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy (compassion) and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 10:19-23 NIV) Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, {20} by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, {21} and since we have a great priest over the house of God, {22} let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. {23} Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

STRENGTH After we accept the gift of salvation God gives us the strength and power we need through the name of Jesus to overcome. We now have the right to claim that Jesus Christ died for "my sins", that is our testimony, Jesus Christ and Him crucified. It was at the cross of Jesus that we received salvation, and power, and entrance into the kingdom of our God. We are to speak our testimony, the testimony of what Jesus has done for us. The testimony of Jesus and Him crucified gives us authority and power over every demon, principality, and stronghold that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and over all the works of Satan. Because we are in Jesus and Jesus is in us we have the right and authority to use the name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name that has all authority over things seen and unseen.

When Jesus accomplished His mission of compassion upon the cross, Michael and other Holy angels cast Satan and his demon angels out of heaven. (Revelation 12:7-9 NKJV) And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, {8} but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. {9} So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

The reason we need power and authority over Satan is because he is now here on earth coming against the people who live on earth. (Revelation 12:12 NKJV) "Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time." Whenever you feel some woe coming against you and the people you care about, know where it comes from.

The Holy angel's authority to defeat Satan and cast him out of heaven came from the testimony of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. That same authority and power that cast Satan out of heaven dwells in you, the testimony of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. When we use the name of Jesus to destroy the works of darkness, we are proclaiming the power of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (Revelation 19:10 NIV) At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

The angel's power and authority over Satan is the testimony of Jesus. Your power and authority over Satan is the testimony of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. (Luke 10:17-20 NKJV) Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name." {18} And He said to them, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. {19} "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. {20} "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven."

After we are saved we are given additional gifts through the power of the Holy Spirit; these gifts are to spread the word of God and to strengthen the Church, Christ body of believers. (Acts 1:8 NKJV) "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." (1 Corinthians 12:7-11 NKJV) But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: {8} for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, {9} to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, {10} to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. {11} But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

PERSEVERANCE, they loved not their lives unto death, meaning that they loved Jesus more than their own life. Power is good but we are not to rejoice in the power, that the spirits are subject to us, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven. Salvation is the helmet that protects our minds and keeps us level headed, rejoicing in the fact that we are going to heaven gives us peace and endurance while on earth. We are not to rejoice in the power given us or the great things that God does through us because that would lead to pride and a focus on works which will lead to a down fall.

The armor God provides for us is to protect us against Satan' attacks so that we can keep on standing and not fall to defeat. The Lord has given us all that we need to defeat the enemy. What He requires us to contribute is all of our perseverance, all of our strength, all of our heart seeking God in prayer and supplication. When He knows that we have given all of our strength He will add enough of His strength to always guarantee our victory. Take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, keep on standing. Always focus on the prize a place in heaven. (Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV) Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, {14} I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
